Plant your summer vegetable garden, featuring a variety of crops such as tomatoes, squash, peppers, beans, eggplants, corn, cucumbers, okra, and an assortment of herbs. Be sure to browse our selection of seeds and starter plants, which includes many organic options that are all non-GMO.

If you don't have access to a traditional garden plot, don't fret! There are plenty of vegetables that can be grown in containers, such as tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, squash, and salad greens. Certain varieties are naturally more compact and well-suited for container gardening.

Plant flowers such as Aster, Alyssum, Penstemon, and Salvia. Herbs, including Borage, Catmint, Lavender, Oregano, and Rosemary, make excellent companion plants for your vegetables.

Once early-spring blooming shrubs like Lilacs and Camellias have finished blooming, it's time to prune them. For Lilacs, remove some of the older stems at the ground level to encourage vigorous growth.

Once your woody perennial herbs are established, trim the tips to promote fresh new growth.

To encourage new flower formation on roses and other continuous bloomers, it's important to remove (deadhead) old flowers.

Keep your fruit trees at a manageable height and ensure a bountiful harvest by beginning summer pruning and thinning fruit. 

Remove any suckers (rapid growth originating from below the graft union) on your roses, citrus, fruit, and ornamental trees to maintain the plant's health and vitality.

Use Mosquito Bits in birdbaths and other stagnant water sources. These bits are safe for birds and bees but effectively eliminate mosquito larvae.

To prevent wormy fruit from codling moths, continue spraying your apples and pears with OMRI-approved Monterey Garden Insect Spray at dusk. It's crucial to avoid spraying when bees are active to minimize the impact on these important pollinators.

To promote moisture conservation, weed prevention, and uniform soil temperatures, mulching your garden is a must. Applying a layer of 2 to 4 inches of mulch is recommended for optimal results.

If you haven't fertilized your garden yet, now is the time to do so! For optimal results, we recommend using all-organic G&B Organics Fertilizers that are packed with beneficial microbes to revitalize depleted soil.

For rose lovers, Alfalfa Meal and G&B Organics Rose & Flower Fertilizer are essential to promote bountiful blossoms. These plants require regular feeding to thrive.

If you have acid-loving plants such as Azaleas, Camellias, Rhododendrons, Japanese Maples, and Dogwoods, don't forget to use Soil Acidifier and G&B Organics Rhododendron, Azalea & Camellia Fertilizer to give them the nutrients they need to flourish.
